Description

The Canon Autoboy D5 is a fully automatic 35mm compact film camera introduced in 1994. Also known as the Canon Sure Shot A-1 in North America and the Canon Prima AS-1 in Europe, it was designed for everyday photography and underwater use.

The camera features a fixed 32mm F3.5 lens with a six-element optical design and automatic focusing on land. Its underwater shooting mode uses fixed focus for typical distances of approximately 1–3m, while the macro mode supports closer subjects from approximately 0.45–1m underwater.

Designed for convenience, the Autoboy D5 includes automatic exposure, a built-in flash, motorized film advance and rewind, and a panorama format option. Its waterproof construction was designed for use at depths of approximately 5m when the camera's seals and closures are in proper condition.

Compact and straightforward to operate, the Canon Autoboy D5 is suited to travel, beach outings, outdoor activities, and casual film photography. Because this is a vintage camera, its waterproof performance should not be assumed without professional inspection and testing.
