Description

The Tele-Takumar 200mm F5.6 is a vintage manual-focus telephoto prime lens produced by Asahi Optical for 35mm SLR cameras with an M42 screw mount. Its 200mm focal length provides a narrow field of view, making it suitable for distant subjects, outdoor photography, and landscape compositions.

With a maximum aperture of f/5.6, the lens offers a relatively compact and lightweight alternative to faster telephoto lenses. Its long focal length helps isolate subjects from their surroundings, making it useful for nature photography, architectural details, and candid photography from a distance.

The optical construction consists of five elements in five groups, paired with a 10-blade preset diaphragm. The manual focusing mechanism and preset aperture control provide a traditional shooting experience characteristic of early Takumar lenses.

Weighing approximately 370g and accepting 49mm filters, the Tele-Takumar 200mm F5.6 remains portable for a vintage telephoto lens. It is a suitable choice for collectors of classic Pentax equipment and photographers who enjoy adapting vintage M42 optics to modern mirrorless cameras.
