Description:

The SMC Pentax-M 35mm F2 is a highly regarded, fast wide-angle manual focus prime lens produced by Asahi Optical Co. between 1977 and 1986 for PK-mount 35mm SLR cameras. Belonging to Pentax's celebrated "M-Series" lineup, it was designed with a focus on miniaturization, providing a bright f/2.0 maximum aperture in an extraordinarily compact and lightweight form factor.

Optically engineered with 7 elements in 7 groups, the lens is coated with Pentax’s world-renowned 7-layer Super-Multi-Coating (SMC). This advanced coating technology drastically suppresses flare and ghosting under harsh lighting, delivering exceptional contrast, high color saturation, and sharp central resolution even when shooting wide open.

Weighing a mere 205 grams and featuring a standard 49mm filter thread, the SMC Pentax-M 35mm F2 boasts an all-metal chassis, a close 0.30m minimum focusing distance, and a smooth manual focus ring. Its combination of speed, portability, and classic optical rendering makes it an ideal vintage optic for street photography, environmental portraiture, and everyday shooting on film or modern adapted mirrorless camera bodies.
