Description

The Rolleiflex T (Model 2 / Type 2) is a refined 6×6 medium format Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) camera produced by Franke & Heidecke in Braunschweig, Germany, from 1961 to 1966. Building upon the groundwork of the original Model 1, the Model 2 introduces key operational upgrades that make it one of the most versatile and user-friendly models in the entire Rolleiflex lineup.

A major distinction of the Model 2 is the factory-standard removable waist-level viewfinder hood, allowing photographers to easily detach the hood and swap in an optional 90-degree eye-level penta-prism finder. It also features an integrated 12/16 exposure counter mechanism, enabling seamless switching between standard 6×6 cm square frames and 6×4.5 cm rectangular frames using masked inserts, as well as 35mm capability with the Rolleikin II kit.

Optically, the camera is fitted with the acclaimed Carl Zeiss Tessar 75mm f/3.5 (or occasionally the Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 75mm f/3.5) taking lens paired with a bright Heidosmat 75mm f/2.8 viewing lens. Driven by a dependable Synchro-Compur leaf shutter (1s to 1/500s + B) and governed by Rolleiflex's iconic single-lever EV coupling system, the Rolleiflex T Model 2 remains an incredible blend of lightweight mechanical precision, vintage German character, and razor-sharp photographic rendering.
