Description:

The Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 120mm F2.8 (M42 mount) is an uncommon and highly sought-after short telephoto prime lens produced by Asahi Pentax during the early 1970s. Sitting uniquely between classic 105mm and 135mm focal lengths, this lens offers a distinctive 120mm perspective that delivers exceptional subject isolation, natural compression, and flattering portrait rendering.

Optically designed with 5 elements in 5 groups, the lens is celebrated for its implementation of Pentax's revolutionary 7-layer Super-Multi-Coating (SMC) technology. This multi-coating drastically minimizes internal reflections, flare, and ghosting, yielding high optical contrast, vibrant color saturation, and impressive backlight performance.

Remarkably compact for a telephoto optic, it accepts a small 49mm filter thread and weighs just 345 grams. Outfitted with a durable all-metal barrel, an Auto/Manual (A/M) aperture switch, and a close 1.2m minimum focus distance, the SMC Takumar 120mm F2.8 remains a prized vintage piece for M42 collectors and mirrorless portrait photographers using adapted optics.
