Description

The Canon IXY Digital 320 is an ultra-compact digital camera introduced in 2002, featuring a 3.2MP 1/2.7-inch CCD sensor and a 2x optical zoom lens covering a 35–70mm equivalent range. It was designed as a higher-resolution successor within Canon's early IXY Digital series while retaining the slim, metal-bodied styling associated with the lineup.

The built-in 35–70mm equivalent zoom provides a useful range for everyday photography, portraits, travel, and casual snapshots. Its F2.8–4.0 aperture and 10cm minimum focusing distance at the wide-angle setting provide additional flexibility for close subjects.

The IXY Digital 320 combines a real-image optical zoom viewfinder with a 1.5-inch LCD monitor. Its 9-point AiAF autofocus system was an advanced feature for an ultra-compact camera of its generation, while ISO settings from 50 to 400 provide basic control over sensitivity.

Images are recorded to CompactFlash Type I cards, and the camera supports VGA video recording with sound. With its small dimensions, 3.2MP CCD sensor, optical viewfinder, and early-2000s IXY styling, the IXY Digital 320 is a distinctive compact camera for photographers interested in the character and handling of early digital cameras.
