Voigtlander Color-Skopar 28mm F2.8 SL [EF mount]

Description

The Voigtlander Color-Skopar 28mm F2.8 SL II Aspherical is a premium ultra-compact manual-focus wide-angle prime lens engineered for Canon EF-mount 35mm full-frame and APS-C SLR cameras. Manufactured in Japan by Cosina, it offers a classic 28mm focal length providing a natural 75-degree field of view ideally suited for street, travel, landscape, and everyday documentary photography.

Distinguishing itself with an exceptionally slim pancake profile measuring just 27mm in length and weighing 230 grams, this lens maintains an all-metal barrel and mechanics for tactile durability. Optically built with 7 elements in 6 groups, it incorporates a double-sided aspherical element and a 9-blade diaphragm to control chromatic aberrations and deliver sharp resolution with pleasing background blur.

Despite its manual-focus mechanical drive, the EF-mount version includes integrated electronic CPU contacts. This facilitates complete exposure metering compatibility across all exposure modes (M, Av, Tv, P), automatic aperture control from the body, EXIF metadata recording, and active focus-confirmation in the viewfinder. Featuring a close 0.22m minimum focus distance and a standard 52mm filter thread, the Color-Skopar 28mm F2.8 SL II is a highly desirable, precise wide-angle prime for film and digital Canon EOS photographers.
