Description

The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm F1.8G is a fast medium telephoto prime lens designed for Nikon FX-format DSLR cameras. Its 85mm focal length provides a classic perspective for portrait photography, while the bright f/1.8 aperture allows effective subject separation and useful performance in low-light conditions.

The optical design consists of nine elements in nine groups and incorporates Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating to help reduce flare and ghosting while maintaining clear, high-contrast images. The seven-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to smooth background rendering.

Autofocus is driven by Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) and uses an Internal Focus system for fast and quiet operation. The lens also supports M/A operation for quick switching from autofocus to manual focus and can focus as close as 0.8m with a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.124×.
