Description

The Nikon Speedlight SB-80DX is a versatile external flash designed for compatible Nikon film and digital SLR cameras. With a guide number of 38 meters at ISO 100 and the 35mm zoom-head setting, it provides substantial output for portraits, indoor photography, and general flash shooting.

The SB-80DX supports multiple flash control modes, including TTL and D-TTL automatic flash, Auto Aperture, Non-TTL Auto, and Manual. Available functions depend on the camera body and lens combination, making it suitable for a range of compatible Nikon photography systems.

Its motorized zoom head adjusts flash coverage from 24mm to 105mm, while the built-in wide-flash adapter extends coverage for ultra-wide-angle lenses. The tilting and swiveling head supports bounce flash, helping photographers redirect light for softer illumination. FP High-Speed Sync and wireless multiple-flash capabilities are available with compatible equipment.

Powered by four AA batteries, the SB-80DX combines flexible lighting controls with practical features for both on-camera and multi-flash setups. It is a useful option for photographers working with compatible Nikon equipment who want greater control over flash lighting.
