Description

The Sigma APO 150–500mm f/5–6.3 DG OS HSM is a super-telephoto zoom lens designed for full-frame and APS-C DSLR cameras. With its 150–500mm focal range, it provides substantial reach while maintaining the flexibility of a zoom, making it particularly useful for wildlife, bird photography, sports, outdoor subjects, and distant details.

The optical construction consists of 21 elements in 15 groups and incorporates three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements to help control chromatic aberration. The lens provides a 16.4° to 5° angle of view and a maximum magnification of 0.19×. Its optical design is intended to provide good detail and controlled color fringing across its extensive telephoto range.

Autofocus is driven by Sigma's HSM ultrasonic motor, providing fast and relatively quiet focusing, with manual focus control also available. The built-in Optical Stabilizer helps compensate for camera movement when shooting handheld, which is particularly useful at the longer 300–500mm focal lengths.
