The Canon EOS Kiss is a landmark lightweight 35mm autofocus SLR camera introduced in 1993 (marketed as the EOS Rebel XS in North America and EOS 500 in Europe and other regions). Designed to make SLR film photography accessible and intuitive, it combines beginner-friendly exposure modes with full manual overrides, lightweight construction, and advanced automated handling.

Operating on Canon’s versatile EF mount, the camera features a 3-point Multi-BASIS autofocus system capable of automatically switching between One-Shot and AI Servo AF based on subject movement.
