Description

The Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm F2.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. is a dedicated Micro Four Thirds macro lens offering a 90mm-equivalent field of view. It provides a natural working distance for close-up photography while also functioning as a compact short telephoto lens for portraits and everyday subjects.

The lens uses 14 elements in 10 groups, including one aspherical element and one ED element. Its optical design is intended to provide high resolution and detailed rendering across the frame, making it well suited to close-up subjects where fine detail is important.

For macro photography, the lens focuses as close as 0.15m and reaches a maximum magnification of 1:1. A focus limiter allows the minimum focusing distance to be changed between 0.15m and 0.5m, which can help make autofocus operation more practical when photographing subjects at longer distances.

Built-in MEGA O.I.S. provides optical image stabilisation, while the seven-blade circular diaphragm and F2.8 maximum aperture make the lens suitable for portraits and general photography beyond macro work. Its compact 225g body also makes it a practical option for Micro Four Thirds systems.
