Minolta AF 2X Tele Converter-II APO

The Minolta AF 2X Tele Converter-II APO is a high-performance 2.0x teleconverter engineered specifically for Minolta and Sony A-mount professional APO telephoto and super-telephoto lenses. By multiplying the effective focal length of the attached lens by two (with a 2-stop exposure loss), it transforms standard telephoto primes and zooms into super-telephoto powerhouses while retaining high resolution and color fidelity.

Built with a sophisticated 7-element in 6-group Apochromatic optical formula, this converter is meticulously designed to suppress chromatic aberrations, color fringing, and spherical distortion that typically plague teleconverter designs. The Mark II iteration features upgraded internal electronic pass-through and contacts to better support High-Speed AF (HS) protocols, full aperture drive, and EXIF distance data integration with Minolta Maxxum/Dynax DSLRs and Sony Alpha A-mount camera bodies.

Due to its protruding front optical element, compatibility is strictly tailored to select high-end Minolta APO telephoto lenses—including the legendary 200mm f/2.8 APO, 300mm f/2.8 APO, 400mm f/4.5 APO, and 70-200mm f/2.8 SSM. Weighing approximately 235 grams and wrapped in a durable metal chassis, the Minolta AF 2X Tele Converter-II APO remains an invaluable optical accessory for sports, wildlife, and action photographers operating within the Sony/Minolta A-mount system.
