Description

The Nikon F3P (Press) is a specialized professional 35mm SLR film camera developed for press photographers and demanding working environments. Based on the Nikon F3 platform, it retains the camera's renowned reliability while incorporating modifications designed for durability and practical operation.

The F3P features a titanium DE-5 High-Eyepoint viewfinder with a standard ISO-type flash shoe. Its additional weather-resistant sealing, rubber-covered shutter release, and modified control layout make it better suited to challenging shooting conditions than the standard F3.

The camera offers aperture-priority automatic and manual exposure modes, supported by TTL center-weighted metering. Its electronically controlled shutter provides speeds up to 1/2000 second, with a mechanical backup setting of 1/60 second.

Unlike the standard F3, the F3P omits the self-timer and multiple-exposure lever. It also features a fixed Type B focusing screen and a modified film back designed for use with the optional MD-4 motor drive. Compatible with Nikon F-mount manual-focus lenses, it remains a distinctive professional film camera valued by photographers and collectors.
