Description

The Nikon Nikkor-O Auto 35mm F2 Non-Ai is a historical wide-angle manual-focus prime lens manufactured by Nippon Kogaku (Nikon) from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. As one of Nikon’s early high-speed 35mm optics, the "O" designation in its name originates from the Latin Octo, signifying its 8-element optical architecture.

Engineered with 8 elements in 6 groups, this lens delivers impressive central resolution, strong contrast, and pleasing subject isolation at its bright f/2.0 maximum aperture. Its classic 35mm focal length offers a versatile natural perspective, making it a timeless choice for street, documentary, environmental portrait, and everyday photography.

Constructed with an all-metal barrel and a classic scalloped metal focus ring, the lens features a close 0.30m minimum focus distance, a standard 52mm filter thread, and an iconic metal meter-coupling shoe ("rabbit ears"). Because it features a Non-Ai (Pre-Ai) rear bayonet ring, un-modified units must not be mounted on modern Nikon DSLRs with aperture indexing tabs, though they function flawlessly on mirrorless camera bodies via simple mechanical lens adapters.
