The Nikkor-S Auto 50mm f/1.4 is a classic standard prime lens produced by Nippon Kogaku (now Nikon) during the late 1960s to early 1970s. The “S” designation stands for the 7-element optical design ("Septem" in Latin). With a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4, it delivers excellent low-light performance, shallow depth of field, and smooth bokeh, making it ideal for portraits, street photography, and general-purpose shooting.
