Description

The Sony FE 50mm F1.8 (SEL50F18F) is a compact standard prime lens designed for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. Its natural perspective makes it suitable for portraits, street photography, everyday shooting, and a wide range of creative applications.

Featuring a bright maximum aperture of f/1.8, the lens performs well in lower-light conditions and provides shallow depth of field for separating subjects from their backgrounds. Its seven-blade circular aperture helps produce smooth background bokeh.

The optical design consists of 6 elements in 5 groups, including an aspherical element to help control optical aberrations. The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 45cm and a maximum magnification of 0.14×, making it suitable for general close-up compositions.

Weighing approximately 186g, the FE 50mm F1.8 is lightweight and easy to carry. When used on Sony APS-C E-mount cameras, it provides a 75mm equivalent field of view, making it particularly useful for portrait photography.
