Description

The Canon EOS 50D is an enthusiast-level DSLR introduced in 2008, featuring a 15.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and Canon's DIGIC 4 image processor. Designed for photographers who want greater control over their images, it offers responsive performance, extensive manual controls, and compatibility with Canon EF and EF-S lenses.

Its 9-point autofocus system uses cross-type sensors at all nine points, while continuous shooting reaches up to 6.3 frames per second. The bright optical pentaprism viewfinder and 3-inch, 920,000-dot LCD provide a comfortable shooting experience, and the camera supports RAW capture for greater flexibility during post-processing. As a still-photo-focused DSLR, the EOS 50D does not record video.

The included Canon EF-S 17-85mm F4-5.6 IS USM is a versatile standard zoom offering a 35mm-equivalent range of approximately 27–136mm. This covers wide-angle landscapes, everyday photography, portraits, and short telephoto subjects without needing to change lenses frequently.

The lens features Canon's ring-type USM autofocus for fast, quiet operation, full-time manual focus override, and optical Image Stabilization to help reduce blur caused by camera shake. Together, the EOS 50D and 17-85mm lens form a practical kit for everyday photography, travel, family events, and photographers exploring the Canon DSLR system.
