Description

The Fujifilm FinePix A500 is a compact digital camera introduced in 2006, featuring a 5.1-megapixel 1/2.5-inch Super CCD HR sensor. It uses a Fujinon 3× optical zoom lens covering a 38–114mm equivalent focal range, providing a practical range for everyday photography.

The A500 offers straightforward automatic operation with Program AE and dedicated Portrait, Landscape, Sports, and Night scene modes. Sensitivity can be selected from Auto, ISO 100, 200, and 400, while TTL 64-zone metering provides automatic exposure control.

For close-up photography, the lens focuses from approximately 60cm in normal mode and down to approximately 10cm in Macro mode. The camera also includes an optical viewfinder alongside its 1.8-inch LCD display, giving users a choice of traditional optical framing or rear-screen composition.

The FinePix A500 stores images on xD-Picture Card media and also provides approximately 12MB of internal memory. With its Super CCD HR sensor, simple controls, Fujinon 3× zoom, AA battery power, and compact early-2000s design, it is a practical example of Fujifilm's entry-level FinePix cameras from the mid-2000s.
